Landscape Committee Overview
The VDVH Landscape Committee is a standing committee. The chairman and members are appointed by the BOD to perform the following duties:
Observe, monitor, and advise the Board of current and ongoing landscape issues.
Conduct and lead monthly landscape walk.
Address homeowner concerns that have been properly reported to the Management Company. New questions which arise in the course of the walk, and questions that concern the terms of the landscape contract, will be referred to the Property Manager and BOD for further action.
The Landscape Committee is not empowered to enforce contracts, nor authorized to instruct contractors to perform new work, or change work previously scheduled. Those items, as well as questions about the contract, can be addressed to the Property Manager and the BOD. Homeowners can be most helpful by reporting concerns and requests to the Property Manager. The issue will be passed on to both the Landscape Vendor and the Committee for action.
Homeowners may discuss concerns in the open forum at the monthly association meetings.
Homeowners who observe irrigation, landscape, and tree issues should report these directly to the Property Manager as soon as possible by phone or email. Please be as accurate as possible when describing the location and the problem. We have a large property, so accurate house numbers and photos are helpful in documenting the problem.
Please don’t wait to report a problem to a Landscape Committee or BOD member, or the landscape tech in person. This may result in delay and confusion as to when the problem was initially reported and what action was taken.
