At the Board of Directors Meeting held on August 16, 2016, the Board approved the following architectural policy for the homeowners to use on the balconies.
The gaps between the railings on the upper balconies of the Association are approximately four (4) inches. Homeowners may have a need to protect their pets or children. The purpose of the policy for mesh on balconies is that it should be done in a way that does not detract from the aesthetic of the Association.
The following are the aesthetic criteria. The Association does not assume any liability for safety issues.
- Homeowners wanting to install mesh on the balcony must submit an architectural application and have it approved prior to installation.
- The approved mesh will be Pet Screen. It is available at Lemon Grove Glass, 7457 Broadway in Lemon Grove. Phone 619-466-3215. There may be other sources available.
- The mesh must be black in color
- ]If the mesh has any design, a picture of the mesh design needs to be included with the architectural application.
- The mesh must fit the dimension of the porch railing, meaning not extending above the wood railing.
- The mesh can be attached to the wood or metal portion of the railing, not the stucco. Stucco penetrations are not allowed.
- The mesh must be attached to the house side of the railing to provide the most aesthetically appealing look to the community.
This mesh is currently installed on the balcony of 4778 Renovo if you would like to see an example.
